Cool summer fun for the dogs
Are you looking for fun and exciting ways to keep your dog staying cool on these hot summer days?
Working from home has its pros and cons. I love the fact that I can be home with my dog every day. But that also creates a lot of challenges. He’s not the type of dog to lay in the corner and “hang out” while I work. I’ve got to come up with activities for him to beat the boredom. And better yet, activities that don’t involve me!
So, here’s what we’ve been doing this summer and some other ideas to stay cool with a super high fun factor! I also rotate the toys out. One day it’s the splash pad, the next day the sprinkler, etc. Keeps it more interesting and fun. When he goes outside, he never knows what toy he is going to play with and is always excited to see!
By far, Pawlie’s favorite water toy! If you follow us on social media, you’ve seen the pics and the videos. 😂 I suggest purchasing the bulk repair kit, just sayin’. And also make sure your dog's nails are trimmed and even filed so no jagged edges.
#2 The Step on Drinking Fountain
With a little training, your dog will have a blast with this one, especially once they figure it out. Teach them to step on it with a command like “push”, when they do, reward with a small treat. Keep repeating until they understand. It won’t be long. 😉
I went with the indestructible one because I own a Bull Terrier. 😂 This is great for a quick setup and immediate fun!
Another sprinkler option but different and wackier. Rotating the sprinkler out each day with different options, keeps them guessing and having a continued interest in playing.
